- Most modern 28.8 voice modems have poor voice quality. They tend to
- sacrifice voice quality for storage space (the use 4 bit, low rate
- sampling, etc). For good Voice quality we (and many happy users and
- developers) would recommend the NSC TYIN2000 and TYIN4000 DSP modems
- (a bit old but great Voice and FAX, albeit 14.4kbps max DATA). They
- deliver 8KHz, 8bit voice announcements, compared with 4800Hz, 4 bit
- popular today...
